| EITI Kazakhstan The first national EITI conference in Kazakhstan took place in Astana on February 29, 2008 gathering about 200 participants from the government, parliament, extracting companies, civil society organizations, international experts, and mass media. | The Ministry of energy and mineral resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan "The Ministry of energy and mineral resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) is a central executive body of the Republic of Kazakhstan to provide for the formation of the state policy, coordination of management processes in the areas of power engineering, including atomic power engineering, mineral resources energy, petrochemical energy and nuclear industry. The major mission of the Ministry is to ensure a sustainable development of the economics of the Republic of Kazakhstan within its own scope. The Ministry shall execute its activity in accordance to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Decrees of the President and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other normative legal acts, as well as this Statute. The Ministry is a juridical entity in the legal form of a state institution; it has stamps and prints with its own name in the national language, letterheads of a standard pattern, as well as accounts in treasury authorities of the Ministry of finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, subject to the legislation. The Ministry shall come to the civic and legal relations sui juris. The Ministry shall have the right to act on behalf of the state if it be authorized so in accordance to the legislation.
