| EITI Gabon On 14 May 2004, gabon decided to join the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative. This decision is part of our commitment to promote and strengthen transparency and good governance in our country. It complements the reforms as such, characterized by: (i) adoption of laws against illicit enrichment, and a new procurement code, followed by the creation of a Directorate General of Public Procurement ( ii) conducting audits of petroleum companies. Membership of this initiative is an opportunity for Gabon to give more clarity to a field that the extractive industries, which usually raises here and there, regularly passionate controversies. - Read more http://www.eitigabon.org |
